What this app is
ChattyBrad is a private messaging app. Sign-in is required via Google. There is no public registration — you must be invited or added as a friend by an existing user.
What we collect
- Your Google account name, email address, and profile picture — used to identify you to other users
- Messages you send — stored on our servers to deliver to recipients
- Files and images you upload — stored for delivery to recipients
- Last seen time — shown to your friends so they know when you were last active
Encryption
Direct messages between two users who have both loaded the app are end-to-end encrypted using ECDH P-256 + AES-256-GCM. In this case, message content cannot be read by the server. Group messages and messages sent before encryption keys are exchanged are not encrypted and are readable on the server.
Who can see your data
- Your name and profile picture are visible to all users of this app
- Messages are only visible to the people in the conversation
- The app owner (Brad) has access to the database and server infrastructure
Third-party services
- Google OAuth — used for sign-in. Google's privacy policy applies.
- Pusher — used for real-time message delivery. Messages pass through Pusher's servers.
- Cloudflare — hosts the app and stores files.
Data deletion
To have your account and data deleted, contact the app owner directly.
